Jiří Havlík
Jiří Havlík studied horn and composition at the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and conducting at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. Lifelong member of the Czech Philharmonic (since 1979 in the horn section).
As a conductor he has led a number of international educational orchestral projects in several European countries, regularly in the Czech Republic under his own brand and with the Filarmonietta Praga Orchestra (founded by him in 2001), with the participation of hundreds of musicians from around the world. He works and performs with Czech and foreign orchestras, soloists and choirs (eg. Japan, Germany, Spain). Long-term artistic leader and conductor positions: Benda Chamber Orchestra Ústí nad Labem 2003 – 2013, ChamberArt Madrid (Spain) since 2007, Mladá Boleslav Chamber Orchestra since 2014. He has conducted recordings of several orchestral CDs, incl. two for the American company Summit Records. Among other things, he recorded a CD solo French horn recital with piano in Japan in 2008.
Jiří Havlík was one of the founders, organizers and leading teachers of the international music courses Hornclass in Nové Strašecí (1991 – 2019) and IMF Cornissimo – Lesní roh Praha. For 10 years he worked as the managing director of the international Czech-American chamber music project Ameropa and in other leading organizational positions. Since 2013 he has been the director of the internatio nal music festival “Praha, klasika .. / Prague, Classics ..”. www.prahaklasika.art In January 2021, he returned to the post of managing director of the Ameropa Chamber Music Academy www.ameropa.org
