Young Composers’ Program

A platform where emerging voices meet the international stage
 

 

The Ameropa International Chamber Music Academy invites young composers worldwide to apply for its 2026 Young Composers’ Program — a two-week intensive dedicated to original chamber music creation, mentorship, and live performance.

12 composers will be selected globally. There are no restrictions on nationality, institutional affiliation, or compositional style. Exceptionally talented applicants under the age of 14 may also be considered(under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult).

 
Selected composers will

  • Receive a minimum of six 50-minute mentorship sessions with internationally acclaimed faculty
  • Have their work performed live by professional musicians at official Ameropa Festival concerts
  • Engage in dialogue with composers, performers, and artistic directors
  • Attend workshops, lectures, and masterclasses throughout the festival

Every selected work will be discussed in depth with faculty and performers — bridging compositional intent and live interpretation.

Auditors are welcome. Observers may attend all workshops, lectures, and masterclasses, concerts, and may arrange optional one-on-one lessons with faculty at an additional fee. See the application page for pricing.

 


Premiere and Performances

Selected works will be performed in collaboration with members of  the Ameropa International Chamber Music Academy artist ensemble on July 22nd and 29th, 2026 in the Prague Conservatory Concert Hall. Performance scheduling will be subject to programming considerations.

 


Commission Opportunity

At the conclusion of the 2026 academy, a minimum of one and up to three of the most exceptionally talented composers will be selected to compose new works for premiere at the 2027 academy.These selected composers will also be awarded a scholarship to attend the 2027 Ameropa International Chamber Music Academy.
